BCM Domains for BSI 200-4 and ISO 22301 Now Available in verinice

The verinice team has expanded the new generation of verinice to include two domains for Business Continuity Management (BCM). They help organizations establish and maintain a Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) in accordance with the BSI 200-4 standard or ISO 22301. You can now test both domains as part of the corresponding bundles on verinice.cloud.

The BCM domains cover, among other things, the scope, business impact analysis, emergency plans, and recovery times. At the same time, BCM with verinice helps with the implementation of NIS 2 requirements: Article 21 explicitly lists business continuity, backup management, and crisis management as risk management measures.

Information security, data protection, and emergency preparedness can be managed together in verinice. The domains access the same set of objects. Processes and assets do not need to be created and maintained anew for each set of regulations.

Which domain is included in which bundle?

You can assign existing processes, assets, and scopes from the ISMS to the BCM domains. For example, a critical business process remains the same object regardless of whether you assess it according to ISO 27001 in terms of its protection requirements or according to BSI Standard 200-4 in terms of its recovery time. Changes to the object are then available in all assigned domains.

Enable BCM Domains in verinice.cloud
If you have an active subscription to verinice.cloud, the respective BCM domain is now automatically available. No additional package is required.

To use the new domains in verinice.cloud, simply add them to the respective unit:

• When creating a new unit, select the desired domains directly during setup. There, enable BSI Standard 200-4 or ISO 22301—or both domains.
• For an existing unit, open the unit selection drop-down menu and select “Manage Units” (see the verinice Documentation). You can then add the BCM domains using the “Edit Domains” field.

Domains with the suffix (Int.) in their title are intended for English-language use.
